From time-to-time, events occur that prove to all of us the basic good done by local businesses. These unusual events separate the run-of-the-mill business from the business that deserves special recognition and especially deserves our patronage. While GVBA is chartered for Grant-Valkaria, we believe that our Special Mention awards may be given to deserving local businesses outside Grant-Valkaria.

Our first Special Mention Award goes to Highlands Animal Hospital in Sebastian with specific mention of Dr. Mary-Pat Jablinski, DVM. This award goes with the sincere thanks of a GVBA member who took a stray kitty into their office after the poor little thing had been hit by a car and left badly injured on the road. Highlands was the closest facility so our member went there. Dr. Jablinski and the staff went way beyond what our member expected. Their sympathy and assistance will be forever appreciated.
